We firmly believe that the nations at war empathize far more strongly with the cost of wars, and the pain of losing our human and cultural assets. Look hard at each cartoon, and you will feel the sorrow and suffering hidden behind the drawings. Not all will make your heart ache, certainly; some will even make you laugh; but all will urge you to think about the hard times.

This exhibition is just as well an evidence of the power of art, and of the artist. Had they not held their ground, showed the way, risked imprisonment or death, would our world still have covered such long distance in the name of freedom and peace? Our exhibition then is an opportunity, too, to voice our gratitude to them.”
