Built over the last two decades, these prestigious eonstructions or "temples" to the safeguarding of art's treasures attest to the fertile imaginations of today's most sought-after architects from Rafael Moneo in Stockholm, Renzo Piano in Basel, Frank O. Gehry in Bilbao; Richard Meier in Los Angeles, Alvaro Siza in Santiago de Compostella or Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam. Each one in its own unique way is the outcome of the highest aims of architecture.
